Job Summary
Tether is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable deployment infrastructure.
The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and releases, Infrastructure as Code, containerisation, and multi-platform build processes. This role requires strong expertise in GitHub Actions, Docker, Linux system administration, networking, and modern infrastructure automation tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.
- Automate application testing, building, tagging, deployment, and release processes.
- Apply test-driven deployment practices to improve release quality and reliability.
- Write and maintain automated integration and end-to-end test suites.
- Containerise applications and services using Docker.
- Create, optimise, secure, and maintain Docker images.
- Manage container registries and implement basic container orchestration patterns.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions.
- Manage build, compilation, packaging, and publishing workflows for JavaScript, TypeScript, and C++ packages.
- Design multi-language build pipelines using CMake or similar build systems.
- Automate releases across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
- Ensure that application releases are consistent, reproducible, and traceable.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based environments.
- Configure and maintain networking services and deployment infrastructure.
- Monitor and improve the security, availability, performance, and scalability of production systems.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to streamline development and release workflows.
- Document infrastructure, deployment procedures, and operational processes.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of hands-on DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines at scale.
- Strong practical knowledge of GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD technologies.
- Experience managing production-grade build and deployment environments.
- Strong understanding of test-driven deployment methodologies.
- Experience developing and maintaining automated integration and end-to-end test suites.
- Strong knowledge of Docker, including image creation, optimisation, and registry management.
- Familiarity with basic container orchestration patterns.
- Advanced Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience building and publishing JavaScript, TypeScript, and C++ packages.
- Familiarity with CMake or comparable multi-language build tools.
- Strong scripting, automation, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and cloud-native deployments.
- Knowledge of secrets management and secure software supply-chain practices.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response tools.
- Familiarity with release automation for web, desktop, and mobile applications.
- Understanding of highly available and distributed system architectures.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and vulnerability-management practices.
